Oh those Kardashians! Last night 25-year-old Khloe Kardashian of E! reality TV fame wed her boyfriend of one month Lamar Odom (Age 29) – forward for the Los Angeles Lakers.

As soon as I laid eyes on my husband I knew he was the one. We met in July and by February we were married. We just clicked! It hasn’t always been easy, in fact, it has rarely been easy but it works. I believe if you are truely ready to meet that special someone and remain tuned in to your emotions, you will know. Whether you have a long-term courtship or a whirlwind to remain together requires a partnership. Often you may feel that you give more than you get but stay tuned in to the other person’s feelings and don’t take everything personally. Regardless of the circumstances of how you came together it takes a lot of work and understanding and communication to keep it together. It will be worth it.

Congratulations on your successful marriage. Would you mind if I said in puts me in mind of some of the World War II marriages that happened quickly and lasted 40, 50, or 60 years?
I must say though-I don’t see a fast marriage working for the vast majority of people. Our sense of commitment, for most of us, is so different than it was for our parents and/or grandparents.
Usually, I tell clients who have experienced the pain of a relationship that started very, very quickly and disappeared just that quickly to avoid that type of relationship in the future.

I do believe that some can last, not all short courtship marriages will.
I met my husband, did not get to see him for a couple of weeks, but after we did, we new pretty fast that this is it. Within a couple of months we decides to be engaged. Our marriage is still lasting, this year it will be our 20th anniversary. However, we did have an engagement of about 10 months in order to be certain.
So this is my personal take on this topic.
@!#$^%&()&* Marriage in Mercury Retrograde!? Marriage @ 4 weeks hmmmmm they have no clue who they are yet to each other yet ….all in the physical & material world at this point. Of course thats my take on it. I wish them the best.
