A remake of the iconic 1980s TV show The A-Team hits theaters this weekend, starring Bradley Cooper, Liam Neeson, Jessica Biel and two relative newcomers: South African actor Sharlto Copely (District 9) and mixed martial artist Quinton Jackson of UFC fame. Can astrology give us any insight into what the new actors will be bringing to their roles, as compared to how the original actors played it?

Jupiter Conjunct Uranus in Aries

May 28, 2010 at 1:11 am
By Cortney Litwin

Are you ready for a wake-up call? You just might get one during the Jupiter-Uranus conjunction in Aries, which begins around June 8, 2010 and continues through the 21st. (That’s an approximate time period. Depending on how the conjunction affects your chart, you might be “awakened” for a while longer.)

So what’s this wake-up call about? On a personal level, it’s about personal liberation. It’s about having the courage to express who you really are. Many of us will also feel an increase of daring, optimism and faith. Perhaps you’ll embark on a spiritual pilgrimage – whatever it takes to liberate your authenticity. The danger, however, lies in going overboard with self-centeredness. At least, that’s what your partner might me thinking. Achieving a balanced lifestyle will be a challenge. After all, Uranus rules extremism, while Jupiter rules expansiveness. Put the two together, and you can blow just about anything out of proportion. Read the rest of this entry »

Gulf Coast Oil Disaster

May 26, 2010 at 1:11 am
By Krishna Bill

The Gulf oil spill, which erupted on May 20 and is still pumping what some suspect to be up to 70,000 barrels of oil into the ocean (BP has claimed that only 5,000 barrels have leaked) is one of the worst environmental disasters in United States history.

Though it has been referred to as an “oil spill” in the news, the reality is that it was caused by a botched BP cementing job on the ocean floor, where a fracture in a badly constructed cement block ruptured and opened an oil vent into the sea. This may well poison the entire planet. Read the rest of this entry »

Sun Enters Gemini

May 20, 2010 at 8:34 am
By Elmo Anderson

As of today (May 20 at 8:34 AM PST), the Sun has entered Gemini, which will continue until June 21. Gemini, the Twins, is the sign of quick-witted communication. During this time, expect heavy socialization, fast movement and a need for multi-tasking. Expect a slew of new ideas and to be receptive to the new ideas of those around you, as we go into mental overdrive. However, beware of becoming too unfocused, split between projects, or bowled over by too many ideas and not enough follow-through. Read the rest of this entry »

Sex and the City 2 Astrology

May 19, 2010 at 1:11 am
By Staff

They’re back! Following the massive success of 2008’s film version of the popular HBO TV show, Sarah Jessica Parker and the ladies of Sex and the City make their return to the box office this weekend, bringing their trademark sass and style to an overseas (and cross-cultural) adventure in Abu Dhabi. What is it about this fabulous foursome that strikes such a chord with women worldwide? Let’s have a look at their stars to see!

Sarah Jessica Parker
As Carrie Bradshaw, Sarah Jessica Parker transitioned from supporting actress to superstar. Playing the unlucky in love sex columnist who eventually settles down with the (highly flawed but uber-charming) man of her dreams Mr. Big, Parker oozes spunky relatability. And no wonder! With Sun, Venus and Mercury in fiery Aries (giving her that special spark), a slightly zany Mars in Virgo, and an emotionally stable Capricorn Moon, she’s born to play the unassuming It Girl we all aspire to be… Read the rest of this entry »

Mercury Goes Direct

May 11, 2010 at 10:05 am
By Elmo Anderson

Mercury is the planet of communication, information and media (yes, even Facebook, Twitter and your mobile phone fall under the sign of Mercury!) As such, its influence on our lives, especially in our electronics-saturated age, is crucial. As one of the closest planets to ours, we can’t help but feel its influence.

As such, the phenomena of Mercury retrograde and Mercury direct are well known – even to people who don’t know much else about astrology. In almost every office I’ve worked in, Mercury Retrograde has been a well-known scapegoat… E-mails bouncing? Computers breaking? Communications breaking down between bosses and employees? Facebook friends deleting you because they misinterpreted your status updates? Must be Mercury retrograde! Read the rest of this entry »
