Music and its Makers Shine Through the Night

Grammy Night: On February 12th in Los Angeles, Venus and Uranus, along with Sedna, Lilith and Jupiter rule the night. Since music and astrology have so much in common, our astrological themes shine with clarity through the music and its makers. Those who best reflect the sky through their work will be solid winners this year.

While sky goddesses dominate the evening, you will see all sides of the Divine Feminine meeting the “Crown Prince” Jupiter in the Grammy spotlight. The gentle harmony of a very bright setting Venus blesses Uranus’s techno realm and brings other surprises. Jupiter expresses his generosity aligned with his underworld goddesses—icy Sedna and Lilith, the powerful first bride of Adam, showing up as today’s rock ‘n’ roll women. Remembering Steve Jobs

The World Loses One of its Greatest Innovators

Steve Jobs, the man who revolutionized the world by rolling out truly friendly personal computers over the span of decades, as well as with his approach to corporate business, branding and saavy presentation style, has died. He was only 56.

Surprisingly for one who has had such a huge effect on the material world—yet not surprising for a man of true vision that truly changed our reality—Jobs has both his Sun and Moon in Pisces, the sign of the spiritual seeker. Jobs, of course, spent his early years experimenting with ways of changing his consciousness, as well as travelling in India before returning to the United States to vanguard Apple Computer. His Ascendent in Aquarius shows his outward personality, as almost the human personification of new ideas and innovation. His yearly keynote address at the MacWorld conference has set the pace for cultural innovation since he regained the helm of his company.

America and the world have truly lost one of its greatest minds and cultural leaders. Read the rest of this entry »

Celebrity Heroes to the Rescue

August 29, 2011 at 1:00 pm
By Krishna Bill

Brad Pitt, Kate Winslet and Tandon Doss were all in the news this week… but not for entertaining. In this case, all three were commended for acts of bravery and heroism—Pitt for rescuing a woman from a stampede, Doss for fighting off attackers from stabbing a restaurant manager, and Kate Winslet for rescuing Richard Branson’s mother from a fire. (Pitt’s sun is in Sagittarius, Winslet’s in Libra, and Doss’ in Virgo, all signs of heroism, justice and altruism.)

Yahoo! Associated Content reports:

This last week has been full of celebrity rescues, and the latest hero was none other than actor Brad Pitt. Pitt is in Glasgow, Scotland, filming “World War Z,” a film starring Pitt as a U.N. employee who is traveling the world to stop a Zombie pandemic. Read the rest of this entry »

Uncover the Mysteries of the Seventh Harmonic

The Mystic, the Artist & the Addict: Janis Joplin’s Chart

The harmonics are a fascinating and lesser utilized method of chart interpretation, that astrologer Bob Marks has described as one of the greatest advances in astrological analysis of the last hundred years. The harmonic is a way of probing into one aspect of the psyche in depth: for example, the 9th Harmonic expresses the essence of your soul and what you’re looking for in a soul mate. The 5th Harmonic is your mind, and great for planning book launches, classes, new learning cycles and writing projects as well as understanding your deeper communication patterns. The 7th Harmonic, or the higher frequency of Neptune, is an amazing access to your spirit, your psychic abilities, your artistic gifts—but also any challenges with addictions, emotional problems or setting boundaries.

Any astrologer with software can extract the harmonics from your natal chart and interpret them just as you would your birth chart; or if you call me for a reading. I’ll always be happy to incorporate this into your session to provide you even greater insight into your gifts, if this is of interest. Read the rest of this entry »

Amy Winehouse Dies at 27

July 25, 2011 at 1:00 pm
By Krishna Bill

Amy Winehouse, the brilliant but troubled soul singer who came to worldwide attention with her second album, Back to Black, died this weekend at the age of 27. 27, a popular year for rock stars to die, was also the age that Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, Jim Morrison, Kurt Cobain and the Rolling Stone Brian Jones died. Astrologically speaking, 27 is right before the onset of the Saturn Return, meaning it’s basically the last timeframe you’ve got to die young and leave an attractive corpse (and legend) before Saturn forces maturity.

Salon.com reports:

As the news filtered across the social media sphere about the death of singer Amy Winehouse, I found myself strangely saddened by this loss. After all, wasn’t this just another celebrity whose life had run amok in a very predictable fashion? But aside from the odd (and perhaps intentional?) fact that she died in her 27th year like so many other famous rock stars of the “27 Club” (including Kurt Cobain, Janis Joplin, Jimi Hendrix, Jim Morrison and Brian Jones), something about Amy’s tragic exodus from life struck me in a distinctive way. J-Lo and Marc Anthony’s Infidelity Struggle

July 20, 2011 at 1:00 pm
By Krishna Bill

The recently announced split between singers Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony—which many suspect was hinted at heavily in J-Lo’s last album—has left their fans in shock. But what exactly went down between Leo Sun (surprise!), Scorpio Moon Lopez and Virgo Sun, Cancer Moon Anthony? Did the self-obsessed, jealous sexual energy of Lopez wound Marc Anthony’s overly detail-oriented and sensitive nature?

Recent details suggest that Lopez continually suspected Anthony of infidelity (Scorpio paranoia), apparently leading to their split. But did he actually cheat?

People Magazine reports:

When they announced their split on July 15, Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony revealed they had already “come to an amicable conclusion on all matters.” Read the rest of this entry »

Tupac Shakur’s 40th Birthday Would Have Been Today

June 16, 2011 at 1:00 pm
By Krishna Bill

Today would have been the 40th birthday of Tupac Shakur, the late rapper who revolutionized the music industry with his talent and message before his untimely murder. Born on June 16, 1971 in Brooklyn, NY, Shakur’s sun was in Gemini, the sign of a quick-witted communicator. In addition, his moon was in Aries, giving him the pure drive and single-mindedness to push forward into his early success.

The Huffington Post reports:

June 16 is an emotional day for me. It was on a sunny June 16 in 1989 that my mother died in my arms while visiting relatives in Plainfield, N.J. Thus, every year around that time, my partner understands why I am a little more quiet and reserved. I pass by her picture in our living room and wonder what she would say about the choices I’ve made, what she and my daughters would do for fun, what advice she would give me for the daily challenges I wish I could call her about. Sometimes I really miss her voice. Read the rest of this entry »

Kate Middleton’s Fairy Tale Astrology

May 2, 2011 at 1:00 pm

How Duchess Catherine Became Our Fairy Tale Prince’s Bride

There’s no magical, exciting love story without Venus; no great passion or great romantic love—so how did the Great Goddess show up at the wedding of Prince William in Her human expression as his gorgeous bride Catherine?

We know that modern Western astrologers have seen that this couple are somewhat rare “eclipse babies” sharing their Cancer moon in addition to having harmonious communication and sexual attraction planets. But how did the bride’s natal Venus bring us the “fairy tale princess” we all seem to have been craving to see in our own lives and in the world? Catherine couldn’t possibly accomplish this without the Great Goddess Venus in cahoots. A limited modern view of Catherine’s Venus conjunct Mercury in Aquarius certainly couldn’t do the trick. It would be more of an indication of a flirty, clever, rather fickle bride, and it falls really short of this beautiful new duchess with a “Nancy Reagan” loving gaze toward her Prince William.
