At about 6 a.m., I dreamt I was the passenger in a car with my mother driving. We were driving north on the 101 Freeway near the Sunset off ramp. There were dead dogs as far as I could see. Specifically, along the shoulder of the freeway, I saw two identical black standard poodles lying side by side, all very organized and in the same position – on their side, legs stacked out straight, head down. Head away from the freeway, tail towards the freeway. I started screaming and getting very upset. I don’t remember what I said, but probably something like “oh my god, oh my god, look, look, look!” My mother didn’t seem to notice.

Then I saw one poodle lift its head up and I screamed, thinking that we have to turn around if one of them is alive. Turn around, turn around!

Then I woke myself up in a panic. I got up and turned on the TV (which I never do in the morning), to see the terrorist attacks of 9/11. I know at least one of the towers had been hit. I’m not positive if the second tower had been hit at that point.

It was the most vivid dream that I’ve ever had, I’m sure because of the timing and intensity of it.

Undoubtedly, you tuned in psychically to the events of 9/11 through your dream. The identical poodles were the Twin Towers of course, although why the towers were symbolized by poodles only you could know. Are you a “dog person?” Because pets are entirely dependent on our care, perhaps the dogs represented the helpless people under attack. Your mother was driving in the dream, so she was in control of your direction. She may represent your capable, “in charge” side, or she may even represent the United States. It seems important that she didn’t notice the live dog. Perhaps she (you) knew deep down it wasn’t possible to save the dog (or prevent the situation from taking place in real life). The poodle’s heads pointing away from the freeway may symbolize our nation’s unawareness of the danger at hand. At any rate, your dream was an intriguing premonition.

I have had this recurring dream for many years. I am moving into a house that has many rooms, all are furnished. I am very excited to have all the fun furniture and space, but more than anything, this dream focuses on which room will be my sewing room. Sometimes in the dream I begin to organize and get the room together. (I am just now beginning to sell some of my clothing and purse designs and am attempting to make this a viable business.)

I always enjoy this dream and wake up feeling happy. I also might add that I have inherited a home fully furnished in 2000, so in a way this “dream” has already happened. However, the home I inherited is a very modest townhome and does not have the rooms that always appear in my dream. But as I mentioned, I have been having this dream for maybe 10 years or more. I usually dream a similar dream every month or so. What do you make of this?

Is it possible to communicate with someone in your sleep and have another person hear it? One night my cousin woke me up to tell me that he heard my guy talking to me, and he wasn’t even there. Also, there are times when I haven’t heard from my guy in a couple of days. Then I’ll have a dream where I see him and I ask him where he has been and how he is doing, and the very next day I will hear from him. Is this just a coincidence or am I really communicating with him?

I keep having dreams about my estranged husband. Usually we are reconciling. But this one a few nights ago scared me. He had what appeared to be blood all over his shirt. I thought he’d been stabbed, and I offered to go to the police and take the blame for whatever it was he’d done. What does this dream mean? Why do I continue to dream of him? We’ve been estranged for 15 months.

Your dreams are undoubtedly revealing some unfinished emotional business you have with your estranged husband. The most intriguing part of the dream was your willingness to take the blame for his crime, although you thought he’d been stabbed (suggesting he was the victim, not the perpetrator). Some things to think about: Are you taking too much of the blame for the failure of your marriage? Are you making excuses for your husband’s behavior? Or perhaps you feel he’s been victimized by his past (or by you), and that exempts him from much of the responsibility for your breakup. At any rate, there seems to be a question about shared responsibility for mistakes. If you can clarify what happened in your marriage, without the blame-game (towards him or yourself), then you’ll come to terms with the situation with more peace in your heart.
