This morning I awoke to a group e-mailing from a friend that I have lost touch with over the past few years. It had to do with a new series of DVDs concerning a spiritual concept called Sacred ?. I am not presenting the entire name because I do not wish to be sued. I listened to a part of the DVD as presented on YouTube. It was a dazzling presentation, with little substance. I proceeded into the web site, and discovered a bevy of items available for purchasing, which included laminates of Sacred ? designs, a fusion pack of oils, sprays and a fusion bed set for $4,000.00 and a sacred carrying case for $370. The best I could get out of the video is that this is a rehashing of the old pyramid power craze that took place 30 years ago.
Now the woman who sent out this mailing is a very gifted healer. I am assuming she sent it out to others who are equally gifted. Bearing in mind that the truth is always simple, I have to consider this question: “Why is it that intelligent people continue to believe that they can BUY spirit?” Alice Bailey is quoted in her book, Ponder On This, which I highly recommend, “The cry of the neophyte is: ‘Tell me. Tell me. Then I will change. I will accept anything that is said, but tell me.’ The cry of the disciple is: ‘Aid the work. Forget yourself. The world needs you.’”
We all know people who voraciously pursue TRUTH, WISDOM, GROWTH. It is to be respected. It is a QUEST. I finally threw in the towel with a weekend workshop presented by Dr. David Hawkins, the pioneer of the kinesiology scale, and one final attempt to learn something new from a Wayne Dyer lecture. It has been stated that once we stop looking for God, Spirit, that is when we find it. I have come to the conclusion, at least for myself, that filling myself up with more and more DATA is counter-productive since eventually I will be required to DUMP it. Somewhat ZEN, isn’t it?
Now, don’t get me wrong. I strongly believe in the SPIRITUAL QUEST. It is about knowledge, it shifts the individual’s perspective from the mundane to the magical.
